Shawn is Awesome

Bene & Shawn at the National  - photo by the amazing Garth Gourlay

Open Bitch class placements

Special thanks to Shawn Bennett for taking his namesake (Bene) in the ring and making a big blue splash at the National!

"Bene" - Linwood Fringe Benefits SH
Thanks to Jean Brunton for the fab photos ... and for being the most amazing owner of Bene's brother Pirate.  :)

From 2 Senior Hunter passes, to 2 - 1st place obedience ribbons, to 2 - 2nd place Open bitch placements ... that's a lot of fringe benefits!

We've had the benefit of a lot of fun lately!

Bene ventured into Canada for the first time and earned two 4pt majors over the ESCC national weekend. Special thanks to Shawn Bennett for expert handling.

Not to be outdone in Canada.... Bene returned to the States and won 4 & 5 pt majors at the large Michigamme Specialties. Thanks to Lindsey Kuhn for her superb presentation.

Bene's real love is the field
She finished her Senior Hunter title at the GSP Hunt Tests Oct. 1st earning two Qualifying scores over the weekend - making Bene is the 1st Linwood dog to ever earn an SH. We think she's the 1st dog in KMESC to ever enter at Senior and know she's the 1st dog in the club to receive this title!

2011 National weekend:
Bene couldn't resist running at the ESAA National and finding more of those coveted birds!   She ended up being the only ES to earn Qualifying scores at Senior Hunter both days.

We brushed out her coat and ran right into the Open class at the National where she placed 2nd in a class of 19 at both specialties!

I'd totally forgotten that Beckie Lloyd (owner of Phoenix) had made me promise that if Bene finished her SH before the National that I'd enter her in obedience.  Ooops! She finished her SH 3 weeks prior to the National.

I made good on my promise and we used those 3 weeks to our advantage and took up obedience lessons!  We made our lifetime debut in the Obedience ring at Beginner Novice A at the ESAA National on Oct 25th, 2011 (mark this day down in history!). She not only got Qualifying scores both days, she won High in Class both times (scores of 190 and 197).  I really think we should quit on a high note and stop right now!  It can't get any better than this.  :)
